Super Smash Bros Ultimate scores a new update

Nintendo has announced that a new update is coming tomorrow for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Nintendo Switch and among its many updates will be the addition of the first DLC fighter, Joker.

The update is not just about a new fighter, as it brings the game to 3.0 and adds a host of new features and tweaks. King among them is the Stage Builder, leaked a few days ago in a video, the stage builder will be able to build their ideal smash stage. By using in-game tools, players can add moving platforms, spinning traps and other unique features to their customised stages.

By playing in handheld mode, budding designers can even use the touch screen to freely draw and create, and use front and back layers to decorate their stages further. Designed stages will be available to play in a new tab on the Stage Select screen and can be shared online via the new Smash World service for the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app.

That is the other big addition, Smash World is coming to the Nintendo Switch Online app. With the app, players will be able to download stages that have been created by other players, letting them download while at work, school or anywhere really.

In addition the app will also allow people to view the videos that players can now create within the game itself.

The edit video function will allow players to gather all of their best moments and splice them into their ultimate moments video. You will even be able to add in subtitles and sound effects, letting your personality shine through. IF that was not enough, you can share the videos to the app and showcase your skills to everyone.

It is important to note that while all of the content above is free, using the share functions does require a Nintendo Switch Online membership, one part that is not free is Joker.

Challenger Pack 1: Joker will feature Joker from the game Persona 5, along with the series music and stage Mementos. It can be bought in one of two ways, on its own for $7.80 or as part of the Fighter Pass for $32.50, which will add another four fighters when they are released.
