Sit down and take a few laps with the Playseat Challenge X - Logitech G Edition

Logitech and Playseat have partnered up to reveal the new Playseat Challenge X - Logitech G Edition, the perfect solution to those racing game fans who want to sit down and feel like they are in the car, but don’t have space for a dedicated unit.

Designed for Logitech G racing wheel and pedals, this new chair is a lightweight, foldable carbon steel frame and features a fully adjustable seat with Playseat’s Actifit breathable materials, providing sim racers with a racing chair that delivers exceptional comfort, versatility, durability and the performance needed to stay fully immersed in the race.

There was a considerable amount of collaboration on this product to make the Challenge X more functional, comfortable and overall, a better racing experience, than traditional desktop gaming chairs. During that process our teams focused on three key areas of a sim racing chair and we couldn’t be more happy with the results.
— Jim Hoey, head of simulation marketing at Logitech G.

The big reason why this chair will work for all, is down to the ActiFit material that Playseat have pioneered. This fabric allows for a body conforming feel, keeping shape and offering support whilst you sit in it, but also allows for airflow around you and heat to dissipate.

The chair is also quite light at only 11.6kg, which still has heft to it, which should stop it from sliding around the place. But with its lighter than normal weight and foldable design, means you can simply pack it up when you are done.

The chair is designed to work with the Logitech racing accessory line up, meaning the G923 Racing Wheel or the Driving Force Shifter, but it is possible folks may create adapting brackets, but that is not yet known.

As for pricing and availability? Well for the price the chair has a RRP of $499 and orders can be placed direct from Logitech, but just not yet as there is no date for its arrival.
