Mimimi Games are the folks behind Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun and Desperados III, but are not stopping as they have announced their next game, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, check out the reveal trailer for it below.

In Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, you will join a ghost ship with a living soul, sailing the Lost Caribbean, and assemble a cursed pirate crew. Embrace supernatural powers to defy the menacing army of the Inquisition, who stands between you and the mysterious treasure of the legendary Captain Mordechai.

The team behind the game have released a blog post, explaining more about it in detail, should you want to know more. One of the big changes for this game, from the studios previous efforts is that they are no longer constrained by the real world. In past games, like Desperados III, the setting was the Wild West and with it came certain expectations about what you would see in that setting.

This new setting however is one of fantasy and magic, which means they can do things like including talking ghost ships and cursed pirates with supernatural abilities now. That change isn’t just an aesthetic one as it means gameplay is no longer something that has to be based in reality.

The game itself is set to release for PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, but a release date beyond 2023 is not yet known.
