Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways arrives next week
During the recent State of Play, Capcom were on hand to reveal that Separate Ways, a new story DLC for Resident Evil 4 Remake, would be arriving on September 21st, which is next week.
In Separate Ways, Ada Wong travels to a lonely and rural part of Europe to infiltrate a village controlled by the religious group known as Los Iluminados. Under orders from Albert Wesker, Ada is assigned to obtain the cult’s darkest secret: a mysterious material known as “the Amber.” Her operation intertwines with Leon S. Kennedy’s search for the president’s missing daughter, providing an alternate perspective on the main story that uncovers events that unfold behind the scenes.
While Separate Ways is a paid expansion to the game, The Mercenaries mode is a free update for all players. In this timed mode, you will have to defeat hordes of enemies to earn a high score. At first, you'll only have access to certain weapons, so if you want to score big you'll have to learn which weapons suit which situations. To begin, only the Village stage is available, but the better you play, the more stages and other content you unlock.
In each stage players will also find Time Orbs, which add time to the clock as the more time you have the bigger a score you can get. Once you have enough kills you can enable Mayhem Mode, in order to boost all aspects, power, speed and so on. Your score is also boosted while this mode is active, ensuring you can earn even bigger scores.
Finally, the trailer at the top also shows off the VR mode, which will be exclusive to the PlayStation VR2 platform and is aiming to release this Summer as a free update, there is just no word if its before or after the new year.
