Project Leonardo is now Access and will welcome in even more games to PlayStation 5

Having revealed the device under its working name Project Leonardo at CES 2023, PlayStation have been fairly silent on their first major attempt at an accessibility device, until now.

The device has an official name, Access, and while not explained it is likely a shortened from accessibility and named as it provides access to gamers of all abilities. In addition, the PlayStation blog has released new images of the ways the device can be used.

One of the bigger changes from when we first saw the device is that now we know how it will connect. The base of the device offers a few connection options, so if you do need to have it mounted to a platform, it can be done.

We now know that the device can also be rotated and placed in any position, if you require the stick to be in a certain position. There was some concern over external devices and it seems the team have that sorted as well, with a few additional 3.5mm aux ports now included.

The PlayStation Blog goes into more detail, but we have confirmation on how button assignment and profiles will work, including setup of the device.

Finally a new video for PlayStation accessibility has been released, if you want to learn even more.
