Penance never ends with Blasphemous 2 reveal
Penance never ends, and Blasphemous 2 is here to make sure we remember the pain.
Team 17, the publishers behind Dredge, Ship of Fools and the original Blasphemous title have revealed today with an action-packed and eerie trailer that The Penitent One has awoken again. Looking to expand the Blasphemous universe even further a series of new additions appear throughout the trailer and on a brand new website that has launched alongside the reveal.
Revealed in the trailer is a series of new additions. A new customisable play-style, allowing you to improve your skillset and even use a myriad of new weapons, to elicit the penance on all who stand in your way. New characters, new enemies and brand new bosses, Blasphemous 2 looks to take the successes of the first and push them even further with this direct sequel.
Taking place directly following the DLC, Wounds of Eventide, players will be dropped into a new world, following the return of The Miracle and the birth of a new miracle child. This time however, you look to end the cycle once and for all. No definite date for release is in stone just yet, but an expected late 2023 release is on the cards.
