PAX Australia 2023: Nintendo Australia will be on deck this year
With the three console makers all giving PAX Australia 2022 a miss last year, the show floor felt empty, but Nintendo have announced that they will be back this year, bringing a few events to the show, namely Mario Kart and Splatoon 3.
The show will be home for the finals of both the Splatoon 3 AU/NZ Championship 2023 and the Mario Kart AU/NZ Championship 2023, but events for them kick off this month, let us first look at Mario Kart.
Racers will compete in 150cc Race Mode with normal items across a variety of courses, accruing points with the top two racers per qualifier (for a total of 12) qualifying for the Live Finals at PAX Australia on Sunday, 8th October 2023.
The qualifiers will take place throughout September, running over 2 weekends, the dates and times are below. The full details, including tournament codes for each event, can be found on the official website.
For those looking to ink it up, there is a little more required, but the events are set to take place this month, before the finals at PAX Australia 2023.
Registered teams will face off against each other in Turf War best-of-three single elimination bracket, with the quarter and semi finals in Turf War and Anarchy Battle best-of-five single elimination. The winning team from each qualifier will be invited to the Live Grand Final at PAX Australia on Sunday, 8th October 2023.
The online qualifiers for this will take place over two days:
Qualifier 1 - August 19th - 11am AEST/1pm NZST
Qualifier 2 - August 27th - 11am AEST/1pm NZST

It does require a FACEIT Account, which is part of the ESL Gaming Australia group, you can get one of those here, but just note, you must use your same email address that your MyNintendo account is connected too.
