Party on! Rocket League is celebrating its 8th birthday
Last week saw Rocket League celebrate 8 years, yes it has been that long and the folks at Psyonix are celebrating with new in-game events and items and digital cake.
The event is called the Birthday Ball and is a returning one, as it has been done in years past. The event features a few limited time modes, along with a series of challenges. The two modes that are back are Supercube and Beach Ball.
Supercube is a 3v3 mode and will be available until later this week, where as Beach Ball will kick off later this week and run until the events end. I actually had the pleasure of playing the mode back at E3 2019 with the developers and kicking the ball up into the air, only for it to curve like a beach ball would, is quite the interesting experience.
Of course it wouldn’t be a birthday without some presents and this time the birthday gifts are coming your way, with two new flame effects, the Waned Flame Boost and Trail.
There are also new items that you can get to decorate your car, or make your goals even that more special. Here is the list of items:
8th Birthday Crown Player Banner
8th Birthday Avatar Border
Golden Egg '23
Hemi Birthday Player Anthem
Waned Flame Boost
Waned Flame Trail
The event is only on for a limited time, as all birthday parties must end eventually, but you have until July 12 to party.
