Overwatch 2 leaves early access as the Invasion begins
Blizzard have announced that Overwatch 2 has finished its time in early access, with the games Invasion update, bringing the game to version 1.0, technically speaking. While the game is now playable in all its base forms, that has not stopped the company from adding a lot of new things to the game. Check out the video below to get an overview of the content being added to the game.
As you can see in the trailer above, one of the big new additions to the game is Illari, the 38th hero to join the fight. Drawing her power from the sun, her medium- and long-range abilities allow her to both heal and harm as she sees fit.

If that was not enough, there is also a dedicated gameplay trailer, to show off how the character works.
It is not just a new character though, the game now offers up story missions, just not the Hero missions the game was promised to have. The Invasion story missions will have players visit Toronto, Rio and Gothenburg, as they fight against the invading Null Sector forces.
For those who are not interested in story and just want to pew pew things, there is an all-new Flashpoint to take part in, well two actually. Suravasa and New Junk City are joining the rotation, meaning that players will fight for capture points in this non-linear PvP experience, testing team coordination and creativity in brand-new ways, all across two of the biggest maps ever for PvP.
Now comes the bad news, the cost of all that content. The game is still free to play, meaning you can download it on your platform of choice at no cost. However to access the Invasion content, there are a few options.
