Outlaws is the next update for No Man's Sky, letting players be an outlaw and improving the rest

Hello Games have been busy it seems, not only are they bringing No Man’s Sky to Switch in a few months, but they have now released their third major update for the game.. this year. The Outlaws update adds in the option to become a smuggler, engaging in planetary raids and also lets you have a cape.

Ships have gotten some much needed improvements in this update, first and most importantly is that players can now own 9 ships, up from the 6 before, meaning that if you discover one of the new solar sail ships, you won’t need to get rid of an existing one to make room for it.

In addition, you can now summon other ships from your collection, to help you out in combat with the new squadrons feature. So if you are targeted by a band of pirates, you can now take the fight to them, should you choose to.

Of course, the big addition in this update is the expansion of the pirates across space, they will now attack more often, have taken over space stations and welcome all traders - no matter how they obtained their goods and will invade planets.

These are just a few of the many additions which come with the Outlaws update:

  • Outlaw Stations – Outlaws have taken over space stations across the galaxy!

  • Solar Starship – No Man’s Sky’s first new starship since the start of 2020 is a high-tech, sophisticated flier.

  • Smuggling – Illegal goods purchased in outlaw systems can be smuggled into regulated space, where they can be sold for a significant profit.

  • Cargo Inventories – All players, not just the smugglers, will benefit from the addition of specialist cargo inventories to all starships.

  • Squadrons -Players can now recruit and upgrade their own personal squadron of wingmen to assist them in ship-to-ship combat!

  • Space Combat – Space combat has been rebalanced for speed and excitement.

You can read the full update blog on the games official site, there is a lot, but perhaps the most exciting is that you can now ignore Edna Mode and enjoy capes and more.
