The Calisto Protocol is a game you may not be familiar with yet, but that will change later this year when the game hits PC, Xbox and PlayStation platforms. We got our first look back at The Game Awards 2020, the trailer for that is below, but since then the game has been pretty silent.

Now, thanks to Game Informer, more details have been released and will continue to be released over the month of June, as it is the game of the month for them. Also, when the game was announced, it was only PC and next gen, but since then it has been given a lease of life on last gen consoles a well.

One look at some of the screens below and you will get an immediate Dead Space vibe and that is intentional as the studio creating the game, was founded by the creative director behind Dead Space.

In the game, players will take control of Jacob Lee, who is being performed by actor Josh Duhamel, as they attempt to survive on Callisto, one of of the moons of Jupiter. Somehow a mysterious infection has broken out and is turning people into the Biophage and like their Dead Space equivalents, can be dismembered, in order to take them out.

The game is still on track for its 2022 release, but an exact date has not been narrowed down.
