New details for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom have been released

Nintendo have released a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, that shows off the map, Zelda’s moves and a bit more, check it out.

We have known since the reveal that Zelda can make echoes of items she discovers in the world and that by echoing things from wooden boxes to old beds, Zelda will be able to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles. She can also create echoes to use in her defence when faced with dangerous enemies – and then echo the enemies themselves to fight by her side in later confrontations.

Now though, we have more abilities at hand, including the ability to pick up items and have them follow the same path as Zelda, like moving a giant boulder. The ability is called Bind and can be used on items, enemies and more, however it is not the only new ability announced as Reverse Bond was also revealed. While Bind has objects follow Zelda’s path, Reverse Bond has Zelda follow the path of the object, like a bird in the air, or a spider climbing a wall. A great way to remember which is which, the I in Bind is because “i have control”.

We also got to learn a little more about the world, including a look at the map, well part of it. The screen below shows off a few locations like Suthorn Village, but also removes the concern that the games map would be the same as Link’s Awakening. One ability for Zelda is the ability to warp back to landmarks that she has found, which should help get her around the world, you can see a few of them on the map below.

You can also ride a horse around the world and if you lose track of your trusty steed, you can summon it by using a carrot echo, at least once you discover it.

The map also shows the size of the world, in which we will find Gerudo, Gorons, River Zora, Sea Zora, Dekus and much more. I am sure each race will have quests of their own they need assistance with, so exploring their regions could be fun.

The game is coming out on September 26 for Switch, with a limited edition gold Zelda themed console launching on the same day.
