Monster Hunter adds additional collabs to Rise, as well as confirming the PC release

Capcom host a live stream at Tokyo Game Show and spent a significant portion of it, talking all things Monster Hunter, including more collabs for Rise, when Rise will come to PC, the first monsters announced for Sunbreak and new updates for Stories 2, so lets get started.

First up let’s talk Monster Hunter Rise and Capcom Collaborations, we have had Okami, Street Fighter and most recently Mega Man, today Capcom have announced that Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection will be next up.

A new Event Quest to unlock layered armour to make your hunter look like Arthur from Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection arrives on October 29! Your kunai will change into Arthur's iconic lance!

Arthur has his own special animation on the Quest Completed screen as well. Grab this special layered armour for your hunter to turn them into Arthur the gallant knight!

Arthur is not the only one announced as the team also revealed that a Sonic collaboration was in the works, but there were no details released for that, beyond confirming it was coming.

Now lets look at Sunbreak, the upcoming expansion for Monster Hunter Rise, which is set to launch sometime in the Winter months of 2022. There are still few details known, but we do know somethings, for example, access to this new quest area will only be provided to players who have beaten the 7-star quest Serpent Goddess of Thunder, so if you haven’t beaten that, you have time to do so.

In addition the location in the reveal trailer was confirmed to be the new quest area and is in fact quite a distance away from Kamura Village. You won’t travel to and from the village, when you head to this new area, a new base camp will be there waiting for you, though no details on what it would contain was confirmed.

What we did get confirmed were two monsters, one of them was shown in the reveal trailer, the first is Malzeno, who if the look didn’t give it away, is an Elder Dragon. The second monster confirmed is Shogun Ceanataur, showing up again for the first time since Monster Hunter 2.

Before we are done with Rise, we need to talk about the PC release, which has been confirmed to be coming on January 12, with a demo coming on October 13. The PC version will feature customisable optimizations, allowing hunters to enjoy their journey in 4K resolution and with ultrawide (21:9 aspect ratio) support, while also offering uncapped framerates and high-resolution textures.

Phew… finally we got an update for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, which announced that its latest update is out now and more will come next week and then later in October.

Update 4, which is out now adds in Molten Tigrex and the High Difficulty Kulve Taroth, wiht the Dreadking Rathalos coming on 7 Oct.

Update 5 is coming 21 Oct, featuring the High Difficulty Co-Op Quest against Fatalis. Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian are coming 28 Oct, check them out in the trailer below.
