The name popped up 15 years ago, but the development team realised they couldn’t bring it to life the way they wanted to, but after working with Mercury Steam on Samus Returns, they realised they could.

Dread in the name comes from the feeling of being hunted, which will happen often on this new world, as E.M.M.I will always be on the hunt for Samus and if found, its game over for you, as none of Samus’ weapons will impact this new threat.

But you can also avoid detection by remaining still, or engaging the Phantom Cloak ability, letting Samus become transparent for a limited time, but that is not all that is new. Other options like the Charge Beam return, but the Spider Magnet is new and will let Samus climb walls, without needing to be in ball form.

Check out the below message from series producer Sakamoto Yoshio, to learn more about the game.

Alongside the game, players can get two new Metroid amiibo, though no word on what they might do, but they are coming, for those that want the special edition, that is also coming and both items will be out on October 8th as well.

Finally, we have a few screens for the game, check those out below.
