Mario Strikers Battle League Football is calling a timeout, in order to make character substitutions
Nintendo has announced that a free update for Mario Strikers Battle League Football is coming tomorrow, bringing with it two new playable characters, a new stadium and gear type, check out the trailer below to see it all in action.
Daisy is one of the new characters and with her addition to the roster, comes the ability to not lose the ball when tackled, team tackles though will still knock it loose.
The second character to join the roster is Shy Guy, an addition that brings balance to the force.. I mean pitch, as all the base stats for this character are the same across the board.
In addition to the new characters, a new gear type will be added as well, called Knight Gear, it actually lowers stats, giving players the chance to bring some skills down, if they want to bolster their characters in new ways.
Finally, a new stadium type is being added, Desert Ruin, you can even hear the new music for it being played in the trailer. Much like the others there are varying levels of detail, which you can unlock and you can also swap your current stadium to this new one, as your clubs home team.
Nintendo also announced that there are two more updates coming this year, no idea what is included, or if there will be more next year, though given how quickly support for Golf and Tennis vanished, I wouldn’t think beyond 2022 is likely.
