Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit adds in new track themes and karts in a free update

Out of nowhere, which is starting to be a trend for Nintendo, they have released an update for Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, the real world/video game Mario Kart game, adding in new track themes and karts.

The three new track themes are included in a new cup, the Mario Cup, which if you place 3rd or higher, will also reward you with a new Yoshi kart.

The first track theme is that of Slick Circuit, which if the name or pictures below don’t give it away, will have you dodging oil barrels. Not only will your screen get covered in oil, making it harder to see, but the kart will become harder to handle for a brief time.

The second track theme is that of Barrel Temple, which is the perfect course to go ape over, as it features lots of bananas, the catch is that they are in brown barrels. If you hit one, you will crash and stop for a moment, but there are also gold barrels that will reward you with coins if you hit them.

The final new theme is Fossil Fields and the challenge here is to avoid the geysers that sprout up all over the place, the catch though is that is where coins are located, so you have to wait until they stop, in order to claim them. The gate is also going to be a challenge, as the fossil attached to it, will start to scream at you, slowing you down, if you get caught in the blast.

Coming in third or higher in the Mario Cup, will unlock the new Yoshi kart, which will also let you hear Yoshi’s voice, in lieu of the regular horn.
