Local PlayStation Plus tier pricing has been announced, along with the launch date
PlayStation announced that PlayStation Plus would be getting a big change this year, and they recently revealed the release date for when regions would get it. Given that we are in the same geographical region as Asia, you might think we are getting it with them, but no, we are being included in with Europe, which means a June release for us.
Here is the current rollout for the regions:
Asia markets (excluding Japan) – targeting May 23, 2022
Japan – targeting June 1, 2022
Americas – targeting June 13, 2022
Europe – targeting June 22, 2022
As mentioned above, Australia is being included in the Europe region, which means that June 22nd is the date when the PlayStation Plus tiers will come into effect here. You can read up on all the included benefits here.
When the service was announced, we took a stab at the prices, comparing the USA prices, against what we thought they might be here, with the expected marked with a *. We were wrong on one of them, with the Premium tier being cheaper than expected
PLAYSTATION PLUS ESSENTIAL
This pricing structure is no different to now, as the service that exists now, is just rolling into the basic tier on June 22nd.
1 month - $11.95
3 months - $33.95
12 months - $79.95
PLAYSTATION PLUS EXTRA
This tier is the one we uncharged it seems, we expected 12 months to be $120 not the $135 it is.
1 month - $18.95
3 months - $54.95
12 months - $134.95
PLAYSTATION PLUS PREMIUM
This is the one we overcharged on, but as we are not getting streamable PlayStation 3 games, it makes sense for it to be cheaper. We guessed $180, but it is $155.
1 month - $21.95
3 months - $63.95
12 months - $154.95
So there you go, with a date and prices confirmed, are you looking to upgrade your membership to the higher tiers?
