Instant control will be possible with the Arctis Nova 5 from SteelSeries
SteelSeries have announced the Arctis Nova 5, a new headset that comes with one very cool feature, it can swap to more than 100 presets via the new app, letting you get the best experience possible at the tap of a button.
You can use the headset without the app, but with the app you get much more control. In the preset options you can select from basics like FPS or Racing, or a series of already created options like The Elder Scrolls Online, Battlefield 2042, Call of Duty and more. This isn’t just hyperbole, as I have personally been using the headset for a week and it really is instant.
The headset itself is no slouch, as instead of using the same drivers found in their other headsets, the team have opted for a set of Neodymium Magnetic Drivers, which are perfect for the range the headset offers.
On the headset you will find some basic controls, like for volume and muting the microphone, but there is also a dedicated button for swapping between the 2.4GHz to Bluetooth 5.3. This means that if you are in the middle of an epic boss fight and get a call, just pause the game and press the button to swap to your phone, no removing of the headset at all.
As a wireless headset, battery life is important and SteelSeries are claiming 60 hours of charge from the device, with a quick 15 minute charge giving you 6 hours of life, so perfect if you happen to run out in the middle of a gaming session.
Finally, as far as support goes, the headset offers up a USB-C dongle, which means that it will work on most modern devices, for those without the latest port, a USB-A to USB-C adaptor solves that. It also support Bluetooth, should you want to go down that road.
There are three models available the Arctis Nova 5, the Arctis Nova 5P and the Arctis Nova 5X. The only difference is the colour of the internal head band, you can see those below and that the P and X models are designed for the respective consoles with the same letter.
The headset can be picked up now direct from SteelSeries, but other retailers should have it soon. Our review is coming as well.
