Horizon Forbidden West shows off a lot of new details, including new traversal mechanics

PlayStation’s latest State of Play focused on Horizon Forbidden West, the sequel to the much loved Zero Dawn and in it, we got to see Aloy break out some new moves, new beasties to fight, but sadly no release date.

As expected the game is looking incredible, from the jungle to the sand, the ruins of San Francisco to the blue waters around them all. The reveal of the Termortusk was insane and very Lord of the Rings, but it leading into human combat was a nice surprise.

New beasties are not the only new things Aloy deals with, as Aloy can now send out a pulse, letting her see the ledges and grips that she can make use of, to climb up higher.

She can also get around faster, with a new hookshot style item called the Pullcaster, but that is if you need to get around or up high, what if you need to get down fast. Now you can jump off any ledge and glide down with the new Shieldwing. There is also a new underwater breather, which lets you stay underwater, for as long as you like, in order to escape enemies and also plan routes around them, if you want to be sneaky.

The game is set to release on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, but when is still not revealed
