Horizon Forbidden West and Spider-Man: Miles Morales are coming to PlayStation 4
PlayStation may have had a great event for the PlayStation 5, including dating the console and pricing it, but one little tidbit of news will make those who are not looking to upgrade just yet, very happy.
Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed on the PlayStation Blog that Horizon Forbidden West, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Sackboy: A Big Adventure would also be coming to PlayStation 4.
Additionally, we know that the PS4 community will transition to PS5 at different times, and we’re happy to announce PS4 versions of some of our exclusives. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy A Big Adventure, and Horizon Forbidden West will also launch on PS4. While these three games were designed to take advantage of PS5 and its unique next-gen features like the ultra-high-speed SSD and DualSense controller, PS4 owners will also be able to enjoy these experiences when they launch. The PS4 digital versions of launch games include a free upgrade on both PS5 consoles, while the PS4 disc versions of these games include a free upgrade on the PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-Ray disc drive.
This is a big deal, because Sony had said previously, specifically Jim Ryan, that they would not do games on both, like Xbox is with Halo Infinite. This also means that those who can’t justify the $600 or more, price of the PlayStation 5 console can still play some of the biggest games from PlayStation Studios.
Of course, the added bonus of getting the next gen version, if you do upgrade is a nice bonus.
