Hitman 3 has shuffled its Year 2 content around, with the Freelancer mode coming later in the year now

IOI have announced that the planned Autumn release for Freelancer, a new mode for Hitman 3, will now no longer release in the Autumn months as planned, but will instead release later in the year.

As part of that shuffle of content, some additional changes have been made to planned dates, the first of which was the content planned for the end of April. That planned content, will now be rolled out with the May patch for the game, which will add all the following content to the game, as long as you have the access pass of course.

While the content above and the Freelancer mode have both been delayed, it isn’t just delays in the news as the team have also announced that the late 2022 release for the map known as Rocky, has been brought forward to July.

This new map will have an intriguing narrative for Hitman fans, as it takes place before the events of HITMAN 3 and fills in a few gaps from the World of Assassination storyline. More details are expected in the run-up to release, but they have released a new screenshot, showing off the location in all its splendour.

So with the reshuffle the second year of Hitman 3 now looks like this:

  • Today: May Roadmap

  • May 24: Patch 3.110 arrives with PC RayTracing

  • July: Ambrose Island map (aka Rocky)

  • Second half of 2022: Freelancer game mode coming to HITMAN 3.

Are you still keen to venture back into the world of assassinations, or does the delay just keep you from worrying about the game at all? Let us know in the comments.
