Get an ear up on your games with the Arctis GameBuds from SteelSeries

SteelSeries have announced a new gaming accessory that will up players game, with the new Arctis Gamebuds. They will be available starting on October 29th with support for all platforms.

As the earbuds are a SteelSeries product they are compatible with a range of hardware, via the ultra-low latency wireless 2.4Ghz connectivity with a new USB-C nano dongle. Most PC hardware will be fine with the 2.4Ghz connection, but for console and mobile users the USB-C dongle will be needed. If the device you are using doesn’t have a USB-C port, then you can use the Bluetooth connection option as well, ensuring that no matter the device you can make use of them.

The earbuds are also stocked with Active Noise Cancellation, ensuring that you can enjoy your game, movie or music, without the sounds around you from getting mixed in. For those who walk with music on, or commute in big cities, the earbuds do offer a Transparency mode, which will let in the noise from around you, so you can stay safe.

As with most earbuds they hold a small charge and then recharge when plugged back into the case. Though like most SteelSeries wireless headsets the small charge is not actually small as you will get 10 hours of audio playback and then the case will hold another 30 hours, giving you a total of 40 hours. If they do go flat and you need them back, SteelSeries have said that 15 minutes of charge will give you around 3 hours of use, perfect for that last minute push to the end.

There is one thing to be aware of, Xbox users will need to ensure that they pick up the Arctis GameBuds for Xbox, as the system created by Microsoft does not allow for use with devices that were not configured, so the standard Arctis GamesBuds won’t work. For everyone else, the standard buds will be fine via any of the methods above.

Finally, the mobile companion app, that released alongside the Arctis Nova 5, will be supported by the earbuds, which means that at the touch of a button you can change the equaliser preset, giving you the perfect sound settings for over 100 games on PlayStation 5 or Xbox and the best news, it takes a mere second and you can keep gaming the entire time.

The SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds will be available in White and Black, with orders taken direct from SteelSeries now, but retailers in late October. The RRP for them is $359, so they are not the cheapest option around, but given SteelSeries track record, they might be worth the price.
