Forza Motorsport welcomes drivers of all abilities
Turn 10 Studios have been working on Forza Motorsport for quite a number of years now and we are finally getting a chance to see all that they have been working on. One such addition is a new level of driving assists for players who are vision impaired.
Called Blind Driving Assists, when enabled the game will provide supplemental audio cues, which allow for racers to know their position on the track, approach and progress through turns, as well as information about the car, such as how much deceleration is needed and more. You can check out the feature and learn more via the video below.
In addition to the BDA, the game will also offer up One Touch Driving, which if you have played Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch, will feature something similar, if greatly expanded here. The options in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are always move forward and stay on track, here there are many more. Players who find themselves unable to hold a controller, press buttons or any other combination, can enable various options. This means elements like automatic shifting, braking assists, throttle control, pit entry and more.
While not as impressive, the game will also deliver screen narration, something many Xbox titles have been doing for a while. The big difference here though is that players can actually customise the voice, meaning volume, pitch and speed of the voice are all possible. Beyond that, there are a few voices to choose from as well.
While we still don’t have a date for the games release yet, though October or November is likely, it is great to see that the team have spent more time investing in more ways to welcome in players, rather than just recreating the same tracks from the past 7 games.
