Forever Skies delays its planned take off, now aiming for mid-2023
Developer Far From Home have announced that their upcoming survival game Forever Skies, will no longer release into early access this year as planned, but will instead launch sometime in the first half of next year. While the delay is sad news, they have provided a new brief video showing off the airship customisation, check it out.
A much more detailed reason as to why the game has been delayed can be found here, but the general gist is that they wanted to ensure that what is launched into early access feels more complete, giving glimpses of the larger world that is still to come.
“The scope of what we want the final game to be hasn’t changed much. But what we want to add now for the start of Early Access vs what we planned to add as later updates has shifted notably. We were floored by the level of praise and attention we received for our demo and so now we want to deliver more content right out the gate. The team collectively decided they want to create a stronger Early Access first impression but to do this comfortably, we need more time – Andrzej Blumenfeld, Gameplay Lead, Far From Home
We know the first half 2023 is a little vague to some, but that is all we have agreed even amongst ourselves. Our development team will decide the exact date when they feel everyone is happy with what we have vs us putting out some arbitrary date that they would need to chase. – Pawel Jawor, Brand Manager, Far From Home
So a delay is here, but its not all bad, there will now be more content when it does launch.
