While Square Enix have been very vocal about the events coming to PAX Australia around Final Fantasy XIV, the one element that they had not confirmed until now was if the game would be playable, short answer it is.

In addition to the event ahead of the show with Naoki Yoshida and the panel during the show featuring Natsuko Ishikawa a Senior Story Designer and Saki Takayanagi a Quest Designer, the game will be playable.

In fact the game will once again offer a challenge to players and more. If you want to try your luck, you will need to form groups with fellow attendees while lining up for the challenge and battle against the legendary beast, held to be the mightiest in all Tural, Valigarmanda! Participants will receive a Tour Tural-inspired Dawntrail Bucket Hat and a commemorative "I BEAT VALIGARMANDA" sticker!

If you don’t have time to dedicated to a challenge, you can simply bring a friend along and get them to sign up to the free trial and you will be awarded a medal for your bravery, I mean rewarded with a special pin that you can only get via this offer.
