Final Fantasy XIV Online Dawntrail gets new details direct from the games FanFest
Square Enix hosted another one of their Final Fantasy Online FanFest events over the weekend in Tokyo and from it we got a lot of new information about the upcoming expansion Dawntrail, so lets get to it.
Before we get into the details on the expansion, the planned Xbox beta test for the game is happening in February, but there is no specific date at this time.
One of the new details is that of a new job, the Pictomancer. The Pictomancer, who wields a magic tool similar to a paintbrush as a weapon, uses the magical power he has refined as "paint" and embodies his overflowing imagination in battle. He is a painter of painting magic (remote magic DPS) who embodies the creatures, weapons, and even landscapes he draws. In Golden Legacy, you'll be able to enjoy two new jobs, along with another new job announced last October: Viper.
If you are looking for a new race to play as, then the Hrothgar female is an option for you. The Hrothgar people hail from Ilsabard. A Turali people with shared ancestry, The Xbr’aal, call Yak T’el home. Females number relatively few among the population, but are readily identified by their lithe, muscular forms. Equally distinctive is their predisposition for leadership.
New races and jobs also means a new city to explore and this time its a place called Solution Nine. This is a city of towering facades constructed by an entirely different civilization than that of Tuliyollal. Check out the art and video for them below.
There is a lot more included, so Square Enix have provided highlights, but expect more details as the expansion gets closer to release.
New Area: Heritage Found – In this region overflowing with lightning energies, thick thunderclouds blot out the sun, while streaks of purple levin illuminate the land day and night.
New Raid Series: The Arcadion
A New Ultimate Raid: Futures Rewritten (Ultimate)
Expansive New Lifestyle Content: Cosmic Exploration
New Field Operations – New field operations akin to “The Forbidden Land, Eureka” and “Save the Queen” will arrive in Dawntrail.
A New Limited Job: Beastmaster
So there we go, lots of new details. As for the release, the expansion is aiming for a Winter release, but there is no set date yet.
