Fallout Day delivers news for Fallout 76

Bethesda hosted their first Fallout Day broadcast, in celebration of October 23rd (timezones make it a day behind for us), the date being the day that the bombs fell in the world of Fallout.

Before we dive in, even though the show was called Fallout Day, it should be called Fallout 76 day, as part from a single mention of a today only freebie for Fallout Shelter, everything else was for Fallout 76. I mean no disrespect to that game, but naming your show after the brand as a whole and then just talking about a single game, feels a little cheap. But it was their first one, so maybe if they do another one next year, we might get news on a new game or updates to other games.

For those who play within the world of Fallout 76, the game has seen some 50 major updates over the past 6 years and the developers have more to share.

This December is when the C.A.M.P Pets will arrive into the game, with the first two furry friends being added are cats and dogs, both with an option to pet them. More options for what is considered a pet are still being considered, but there will be more available in the future.

Names will also get an update, as player titles are being added, so you advertise the type of player you are. These will be found in the world, so the more you explore the more unique your title could be, no word on if they will be given to players who have already explored the world.

Gleaming Depths will also arrive in December, a more dungeon like experience, players will only be able to explore this area with a team and you had better be equipped, as once you start you will be locked in. The first challenge will be just getting past the lobby, as a giant turret will challenge you and then the fights get harder. You won’t be chilling at the end though, as the final battle against the Ultracite Terror will truly test your mettle.

In 2025, players will be able to become a ghoul, at least as long as you are level 50 and willing to make the change. Once you do the upsides will be that rads no longer hurt you, but rather help you. Players who enjoy this ghoulish new playstyle can also embrace the feral side with some berserker rage, among other perks that are exclusive to the irradiated.

But just because you get stronger from becoming a ghoul, doesn’t mean you are going to have it easy, as some factions will no longer want to talk with you. If our new undead life is not for you, players can regain their humanity, which is a welcome addition.
