F1 2021 is showing off the new features ahead of its release next month
F1 2021 is only a month, or so, away and that means that there is going to be more information released, the closer we get to its launch. Today, Codemasters and EA have released a new trailer that shows off, at least in a high overview, some of the features that aspiring drivers will find in the game, check it out.
As seen in the video above, there will be a range of things to enjoy, from the all new Braking Point story mode, to two player career racing, here is a little more detail, in text form, to hopefully add some context around each.
Braking Point
Here you will get to choose one of five teams and rise from the ranks of F2 to the heights of F1. Immerse yourself in a combination of on and off tracks moments through three seasons, with a mix of racing action and dramatic cutscenes. Compete against the current Formula 1 line-up and make a name for yourself against a new cast, and the familiar face of Devon Butler. Be prepared for some twists and turns, though we'll let you find those out for yourself.
Two Player Career
If you just want to race, but don’t want to do it alone, the Two Player Career might be the option for you. You and a friend can join together, creating a powerhouse team and dominate the series in splitscreen racing. Of course, you can also race against each other, taking on contracts to move around the teams, so you are always rivals, the choice is yours.
Real-Season Start
No matter when you pick up the game, you can select this option if you want to see how you might fair, in in finishing out the season. Meaning if you think Hamilton had three amazing races at the start of the season, but then flubbed the fourth, you can pick up from the start of the fourth race, to see if you can change the odds.
New Season Driver Stats
F1 2020 introduced driver stats and a driver market to the franchise for the first time. With these, you could compare F1 and F2 drivers based on Experience, Racecraft, Awareness, Pace and Overall Rating. This year, the game is expanding both the stats, with a new Focus attribute, and market, adding seven iconic drivers included in the digital Deluxe Edition. That's not to mention that the stats will be updated throughout the season, giving you plenty of reasons to check in on how your teammate (or favourite driver) is doing.
More Accessible Racing
Whether you're a seasoned veteran or new to the Formula 1 game, there are now more options than ever with F1 2021's Casual, Standard or Expert game modes. If you've never played an F1 game before, Casual mode could be for you, with simplified menus and setup wizards in place to help you get the best out of your experience. For those of you who have won a number of virtual world championships in their time, 'Expert' will be an excellent place for you to start your F1 2021 journey, with a highly customisable experience. Tweak your career exactly how you want it, with lots of in-depth settings, like being able to turn player car faults on and off, we know you’ll love to experiment with.
