F1 2021 highlights its cover stars and game editions
Codemasters and EA have announced the trio of F1 stars that will be on the cover of F2 2021, Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc and with this, they have released some information on each of them, just incase you don’t know who they are.
Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton is the first star on F1® 2021’s cover. Coming into the sport in 2007, Hamilton, paired at McLaren with two-time World Champion Fernando Alonso, immediately made his mark in the world of F1®. Not only did he beat his double-championship-winning teammate in his first season on the grid, he narrowly missed out the title by just one point. He has continued to break records throughout his career. In the 2020 season, Lewis equalled Michael Schumacher’s record of seven World titles, a feat many believed to be out-of-reach for years to come. With 2021 underway, Lewis is looking to enter the history books and win his eighth drivers’ title.
Max Verstappen
In 2015, Max Verstappen became the youngest driver to start a race at just 17 years old. Beginning his career at Toro Rosso, he quickly rose through the ranks, being promoted to Red Bull Racing just a season and a half after his debut. Verstappen has broken many ‘youngest’ records in his career, including ‘youngest to score points’, ‘youngest to set a fastest lap’, and ‘youngest to win a race’. He is widely regarded as one of the best drivers of his generation. This season he’s considered to be a serious challenger for the World Championship.
Charles Leclerc
Scuderia Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc is the final driver on this year’s cover art. Leclerc shined in the junior open-wheel categories, winning the GP3 drivers’ title in 2016 and dominating the F2™ series, taking the championship in 2017. He made his debut with Alfa Romeo F1 Team in 2018 and instantly impressed the paddock, earning a seat at Ferrari a year later. He’s continued to excite the sport with two race wins, 12 podiums and seven pole positions. This year, he’s aiming to return to the podium after a challenging 2020 season.
