EA Sports FC 24 gameplay details revealed with a new trailer

After revealing the game via a weird trailer earlier in the week, Electronic Arts today took the full cover of EA Sports FC 24, their debut title in the series, which is a spiritual successor to the FIFA series. Check out the gameplay trailer below.

Like years past, the game will offer up the next evolution of the HyperMotion system, called HyperMotionV this latest was built using real-world data. In fact data of more than 180 top-tier matches from competitions like the UEFA Men’s and Women’s Champions League and Premier League were used to train it, meaning that will the most accurate representation ever. The system will only be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

Those platforms and Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will also gain access to the PlayStyles mechanics, which aim to dimensionalise athletes, going beyond overall ratings to bring to life the on-pitch abilities that make players special. Each PlayStyle affects gameplay, giving players unique capabilities you’ll see and feel that make their way of playing more authentic.

Something of note to Switch players, they have not be shoved the FIFA 19 edition again with a new name applied, the game is now running on Frostbite, the same engine that powers the other platforms. It is also the same engine that EA use for most of their games, including things like Madden and PGA Tour.

All versions of the game will also sport Volta Football, the unique street version of the sport, along with career modes for players and managers. Ultimate team will also offer up the Women’s leagues for the first time and if that wasn’t enough, Clubs will be supported on all.

For the first time, which is technically true for everything here, given its a new series, Volta, Clubs and more will be supported by cross-play. There are some conditions however, the first being Switch does not have the option at all, so sorry there.

Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners can cross-play to each other, not to other generations and Xbox Series X|S, PC and PlayStation 5 can cross-play to each other. You can read the full breakdown on supported modes and other restrictions, depending on platform, over on the official site.

The game can be ordered on all platforms starting today, with PlayStation, Xbox and PC getting both the standard and Ultimate Team Editions, with Switch just getting the standard. The game will release on September 29th.
