Dragon's Dogma 2 will release this coming March
Capcom hosted another Dragon’s Dogma 2 Showcase today and apart from showing off gameplay, it was also revealed that the studio will be releasing the game on March 22nd, 2024. Check out the newest trailer below and the full showcase at the bottom.
The information was revealed by Hideaki Itsuno, the games director and Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, the producer. Hirabayashi-san was also the producer on the fantastic Resident Evil 4 Remake that came out in early 2023.
The first game was big in its world design, but this time around, it seems there is more scale with its enemies, especially Talos, the giant being that emerges from the water in the trailer above.
As far as story goes, the basic set up is the same as the first game, the Arisen is someone whose heart is eaten by a dragon, but while the that is the same, the rest is all new. There are two nations at the center of the story, Vermund the kingdom of humanity, who are following a false arisen and Battahl, the nation of beasts, who despise the arisen and the pawns they control.
Each nation has characters that are crucial to it, but there are more than just those, check out the official character page on the website, to learn more about them.
One the bigger additions to the pawn system this time, is that each can have a specialisation, one can learn the Elvish language, without it you won’t know what the Elves are saying. This also works in parallel to the Arisens vocation, the job that they have. If you are built for a sneaky type of game, then having pawns that suit that style mean you can do more, but if you are a damage dealing player, you might have a pawn who can tank for you.
The game will arrive on March 22nd, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with the game coming in both standard and deluxe versions.
