Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is celebrating and players are getting the presents

Bandai Namco have announced that Dragon Ball Xenoverse series is celebrating 7 years and part of that celebration includes a massive update to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, check out the trailer to get a tease of what is included.

The update which is rolling out today will offer players the Festival of Universes event, a new multiplayer battle mode called Cross Versus, and more. The best news is that the update is hitting all platforms at once, so no one is being left out of the party.

The new multiplayer mode, Cross Versus, will invite two teams of 3 players into battle, but this is not a standard fighting game. Across the map, each team will race to earn mission points and once the required number of points has been earned, the boss fight unlocks.

Players will then have to test your fight in that battle, with winning granting you a boost of points. If you don’t manage to get into the boss fight, you can still collect points in the map and maybe earn a victory still.

However, Cross Versus is not just a team game. For example, all participating players start at the same level and must level up during the battle. How you become stronger depends on your own strengths and preferred style of play, which can be freely changed. There is also a mechanism to interfere with the opposing team’s moves, so it is essential to know how to contribute to the team and to assess the battle situation.

For those seeking a little more of a festival flavour, there is the Festival of Universes addition to the game. In this mode, players choose one universe of their choice, and become a part of a team featuring all players in that universe.

Participating in the event earning earns Glory Points for that universe during the event period. Once the event ends, the universe with the most Glory Points wins. Glory Points can be earned by playing almost all modes available in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Of course, Cross Versus is also eligible.

There is even more content included in this update and more still to come. The roadmap video released below shows off more details, but not all the details.
