Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is making progress, though still a ways off

In a blog post on the games official site, Gary McKay the General Manager of Bioware has revealed that the next Dragon Age title, subtitled Dreadwolf has reached the Alpha stage of development.

Up to this point, we’ve been working hard on the various parts of the game, but it’s not until the Alpha milestone that a game all comes together. Now, for the first time, we can experience the entire game, from the opening scenes of the first mission to the very end. We can see, hear, feel, and play everything as a cohesive experience.

The alpha stage is usually when the game is playable from start to finish, though assets may not be final and there are likely bugs present in the hundreds or thousands.

The full update doesn’t provide anything specific about the game, but it is worth reading anyway as it still provides some insight into the process.

In terms of games that the studio is working on, Star Wars The Old Republic is still going strong on PC and there is the new Mass Effect game in development, but if they are working on anything else, that is a real secret.
