Double Kick Heroes is getting ready to shred this August
It has been a while since the game was revealed proper, but now Double Kick Heroes from developer Headbang Club, will release on PC and Switch on August 13, with Xbox One coming on August 28 and is included with Xbox Game Pass for both console and PC.
Double Kick Heroes challenges players to survive on the highway to hell fighting an epic freakshow using the power of metal. With over 50 kerranging songs by top artists such as Ultra Vomit, Volkorx, Gorod, Jinjer, Carpenter Brut and Gojira, this is one killer rhythm game metalheads don’t want to miss out on.
"Man, it’s been a long journey but we’re pumped to be finally sharing Double Kick Heroes with you all" David Elahee - Headbang Club. "We hope that you love our game as much as we do and enjoy the kick-ass soundtrack we’ve put together to celebrate all things metal. We can’t wait for people to try out air controls for Nintendo Switch which is a heap load of metallic fun, but please drum responsibly".
For those that want the real thrill of drumming away, or shredding on a guitar, at least as much as one can in videogames, the PC and Xbox One releases actually support those controllers. So those old Rock Band instruments can have another use again, no idea about that recent attempt at Guitar Hero though.
On Switch, there are a few different input options and on top of the standard controllers, players can also use motion, with options like:
Air drumming - Joy-Con used as drumsticks, keeping in the rhythm of the game
Air beat - Can't drum? No Problem! Stomp to the beat with your Joy-Con
Want the all-out motion-controlled experience and really put that double kick pedal to the metal? Then it's time to use two sets of Joy-Con, one in your socks and one in your hands and drum and stomp your way through the apocalypse!
