Donkey Kong Country Returns HD has stopped hoarding this overview trailer
Nintendo have released a new overview trailer for Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, the upcoming Switch version of the Wii release, which is the continuation of the Super Nintendo series, check it out.
As this is an updated release of the game, it has its own version of Funky Mode, but this time it is called Modern Mode. With this mode selected, Donkey Kong will have 3 hearts at the start of each stage and the shops will have more items to purchase, which is good as you can carry even more. For those who are not fans of the minecart levels, don’t worry your cart will now come with extra crash protection with this mode enabled. Finally, you will get a save once per level, should you fall into a hole, which should help many players swing through the stages with ease.
However, unlike some Nintendo games that let you enable the mode if you need it, you will need to decide which mode is right for you at the start and then stick with it.
This Switch release will also include the extra levels that were created for the Nintendo 3DS release, that the Wii original never had.
This updated take on the series was such a hit that it inspired Nintendo to work with Universal Parks to build Donkey Kong Country for real, which just opened at Universal Studios Japan and will open in Orlando next May.
