Death's Door is open and all you need do is step through
During the recent Xbox and Twitch indie showcase, Devolver Digital were on hand to debut Death’s Door from Acid Nerve, the blokes behind Titan Souls. Playing on the adage that Death has a crow as a pet, you take on the role of a crow, who works for a mysterious department, whose job it is to recover souls, check out the debut trailer below.
Things though are not as simple as collecting a set number of souls, because things get lively when your assigned soul is stolen and you must track down a desperate thief to a realm untouched by death - where creatures grow far past their expiry and overflow with greed and power.
Here are a few of the features the game is aiming to make use of:
Talon Sharp Combat: Utilize melee weapons, arrows and magic to overcome a fantastic array of beasts and demigods. Mistakes are punished and victory is rewarded. Gain an edge by customizing your character stats and mastering the abilities and upgrades you obtain.
A Beautifully Bleak World: Venture beyond the Doors and explore a land full of twisted inhabitants and countless secrets, bringing hope to the weird and wonderful characters you’ll meet along the way.
A Dark Mystery to Unravel: Track down and defeat colossal tyrants with stories and motivations of their own. Experience a sombre yet darkly comedic tale, uncovering the truths behind the flow of souls, the role of the Crows and the origin of the Doors.
As of now, the game is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC this Winter, but an exact date is not yet known.
