Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition is getting a next-gen glow up
THQ Nordic have announced that Death rides again as Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, check out the brief trailer for it below.
While the game is playable now via backwards compatibility, the Xbox One/PlayStation 4 release does not take advantage of the new hardware in any meaningful way, this release changes that.
The latest edition of this cherished action-adventure title has been enhanced to take full advantage of modern consoles, offering 4K resolution, ray tracing, and improved lighting and shadows. Players on PlayStation 5 will enjoy the added dimension of haptic feedback through the DualSense controller, enriching the gaming experience with every action taken as the character Death. Additionally, the game benefits from significantly reduced loading times, courtesy of SSD technology, providing a more seamless gaming experience.
Of course, it is not just a shinier version of the game, players will find all the DLC for the game included, along with tweaks to the games balance and loot system, along with some improved level design, reworked characters and graphics. It really is the Deathinitive Edition for the game.
The best news of course is that if you own the game on either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you get a free upgrade to the newer versions, assuming you own the console from the same family.
As for when you can get your hands on it, October 15 is the release date for this release.
