Control comes to Switch today, Hitman 3 soon, but both tethered to the cloud

Cloud based gaming is starting to take off, a few years ago it seemed like a pipe dream and then companies like Google and Microsoft started to get behind it. On the Switch front, it has been around for a few years now, at least in Japan, with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Resident Evil 7 both being playable on Switch, via Cloud streaming.

Outside of Japan, there has been nothing like it, until the recent Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase, where it was revealed Hitman 3 and Control Ultimate Edition would both be coming to Switch, via Cloud streaming and the latter is available now. Check out the trailers for both games below.

Of course the massive catch here is that you need good internet to run these games via the Cloud, which just leaves Australia out. So much so that Nintendo know it won’t work here and Control is not on our eShop, you can download it from the American store, if you want to give it ago, but you only get 5 minutes of trying before it kicks out off and tells you to buy it.

I honestly don’t think that this was the best way to do these games, anyone who has internet limits or poor internet is excluded from the out and given Nintendo is usually all about inclusion, it is a weird approach to take. If you want to see some more on them, here are some screens for Control, but bare in mind, as the games are from the Cloud, they will look more like your other consoles visually.
