CD Projekt Red delays next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3
CD Projekt Red have not had a great run on Cyberpunk 2077, it launched in a bad way and took a while to get traction again, but for many gamers, the end of 2021 was going to be the time they tried again, when the game got next gen updates to make it better.
Sadly, thanks to a statement from the company, that is no longer the case as the news has been released that state the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 versions of the game will be released sometime in the first quarter of 2022.
While a delay sucks, this is one game that can’t afford a second bad launch, no game has ever recovered from that.
The other sad news is that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for the next gen systems has also been delayed and will now release sometime in the second quarter of 2022, that is April to June. Again no word on why the delay, but an interesting fact, that is being developed by Sabre Interactive who just shipped the Crysis Remasters.
No matter the reason, I am sure CD Projekt Red would rather take their time on these, because they have a lot of interest in whatever is released next, of course we are not counting Gwent, which is just running in the background without issue.
