Kicking off the recent Gamescom Opening Night Live event was the reveal of more Borderlands, specifically Borderlands 4 and that it will arrive sometime in 2025. Check out the reveal teaser below, I say teaser as it doesn’t reveal gamplay.

While the Borderlands movie didn’t do so well, the game has usually faired better. While this is the eight game in the series, is the first one where Gearbox is a member of the 2K group, having been bought out earlier in 2025.

As for the game itself, well here is what has been revealed by 2K so far.

Borderlands 4 is the fourth mainline title and seventh (eighth people, get your math right) overall entry in the franchise. Players will once again assume the role of a legendary Vault Hunter as they search for secret alien treasure while blasting everything in sight.

Much like Mafia The Old Country, the game will release sometime between April 1st 2025 and December 31st 2025, based on the teams wording in the press release. When it does arrive it will hit PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
