Battle on the high seas with Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
Sega have released some new details for Like A Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, diving into the naval combat, combat styles and more, lets start off with the sea based combat.
In maritime combat, it's a fierce battle of attack or be attacked. As captains of the Goro Maru, players must steer clear of enemy assaults and retaliate with powerful cannon blasts, then engage in close-quarters combat by boarding enemy vessels to defeat the adversary captain and his crew in a thrilling melee.
To triumph in these naval clashes, players must customize their ship and tactically position their crew. Personalize your vessel's aesthetics and layout to your preference, then fortify its defenses and equip your arsenal.
Victory at sea demands reliance on Majima's prowess and the unique abilities of various crew members during skirmishes. Each member contributes distinct advantages—some excel in offensive strategies, while others specialize in support and recovery.
In battle, players can dynamically switch between two styles - "Mad Dog" and "Sea Dog," each with their own unique qualities and flashy Heat Actions to decimate enemies.
In the "Mad Dog" style, players have the liberty to mix punches and kicks with swift knife slashes, executing an array of rapid strikes and mid-air combos to stylishly vanquish foes. By inflicting damage, players can charge their Madness Gauge and call upon a cadre of spectral doubles, amplifying Majima's devastating power.
The "Sea Dog" style offers players the thrilling opportunity to dual-wield cutlasses, unleashing a flurry of slash combos with pirate gear that culminate in devastating finishing moves. As the story progresses, players can harness the Madness Gauge to invoke four distinct dark deities, each summoned through treasures called "Dark Instruments."
In the heat of battle, players have access to three distinctive sidearms that unlock the full potential of the Sea Dog style. The Cutlass Boomerang allows for sweeping damage across multiple foes, the Pistol delivers a charged, explosive impact, and the Chain Hook offers the thrilling ability to zoom towards adversaries at high velocity for impactful strikes.
If all that sounds a bit much, then be sure to set said for The Pirates' Coliseum in Madlantis. Here pirates can enter a battle arena like no other, with a variety of different challenges, from one-on-one matches to chaotic free-for-alls against nine other crews. All sorts of destructive discoveries awaits Majima and his trusty crew.
More details for the game will come ahead of the February 21st release date, when the game lands on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
