BAM is hosting the local qualifiers for Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6 for the Esports World Cup

BAM, or Battle Arena Melbourne if you want to be formal, have revealed that on May 31st, June 1st and June 2nd, more than 50 events will be hosted in Melbourne for many esports events, including the Esports World Tour.

Across the 3 day event, the following games will be played by some of the best fighters in the region:

  • Super Smash Bros Ultimate

  • Tekken 8

  • Mortal Kombat 1

  • Street Fighter 6

  • Guilty Gear Strive

There are also free play opportunities for those who want to play, without the worry about being decimated by the pros, there are even more games available there.

International players of note returning to BAM include TEKKEN masters KNEE (Last year’s BAM champion), Chanel, Rest and Ulsanfrom South Korea, and Thailand’s Book. For Guilty Gear Strive, last year’s BAM champion, IBUSHIGIN|Leo from Japan defends his title, and there are players from Malaysia, Singapore and the USA.

Australian competitors, such as Capcom Cup finalist and 2023 Street Fighter 6 champion Christian “ROF” Dedalija, will have their work cut out for them against their peers from around the country and the world.

For those seeking to score a place in the debut event, the Esports World Cup, both Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6 sessions will count towards it. The top 2 places for both games will see them scoring a spot in the finals, with the entire event having a prize pool of over $60 Million USD, or roughly $90 Million dollary-doos.

In addition to the EWC, the Tekken World Tour will be back as well, with players able to earn points for the international leader board and a $5,000 cash prize.

Tekken World Tour returns to Australia as BAM hosts a Master Event, and world class Tekken players have registered to take the all important points on the TWT leaderboard and a $5,000 cash prize.

Finally, Arc World Tour will also be at BAM and will host a Gold Event for Guilty Gear Strive and Granblue VS Fantasy Rising - offering big points to qualify for the Arc World Tour finals.
