If you are looking to watch a lot of games next weekend, then the return of the AusSpeedruns is something you should watch. The extra benefit is that they are also raising money over the 5-day event, for Game on Cancer.
The event is being held in person, for the first time in a few years and tickets can be purchased at the venue, if you are are someone who doesn’t live nearby and still wants to watch, the games will be streamed on their Twitch channel. You can check out the full schedule for the 5-day event here, ensuring you know when to tune in for the various games being played.
In 2022, leading gaming peripheral maker HyperX will join the event as the major partner, supporting the production of the event with its high-performance gaming hardware, promoting the marathon to the HyperX community and donating to the fundraising efforts.
Ethan Levy, Coordinator at AusSpeedruns, said “AusSpeedruns greatly welcomes the support of HyperX for our 2022 events. Having the support of fantastic organisations like HyperX helps us achieve our core goals of building a stronger speedrunning community here in Australia, and raising more money for wonderous causes like Game On Cancer.”
“It is important HyperX is an active citizen and has a positive impact on our communities, so the team is proud to be the major sponsor for Cure Cancer and AusSpeedruns 2022 events in Australia. It makes sense for us to support causes like this that do such amazing work and inspire the good in the gaming community, aligning with the concept that ‘We’re All Gamers’," said HyperX.
Shane Bailey, Head of Gaming & Streaming at Cure Cancer, said, “Our team is thrilled to be partnering with the AusSpeedruns community once again, this time for ASM2022. Funds raised during the marathon will support life-saving cancer research and having the support of HyperX will only help us make an even bigger difference together.”
