Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon powers up this August
Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware have announced that Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will arrive on August 25 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox platforms. As part of the announcement, the team have delivered the first gameplay footage for the game as well, check it out.
In the game, the world has discovered a new substance called Coral, on a remote planet named Rubicon 3, with the hope that its energetic properties would help dramatically advance humanity’s technological and communications capabilities.
Instead, it caused a catastrophe that engulfed the planet and the surrounding stars in flames and storms, forming a Burning Star System. Almost half a century later, Coral has resurfaced on Rubicon 3, a planet now contaminated and sealed off by the catastrophe.
Extra-terrestrial corporations and resistance groups fight over control of the substance. The player infiltrates Rubicon as an independent mercenary and finds themselves in a struggle over the substance with the corporations and other factions.
Players will suit up in highly customisable mecha’s where they can take the fight to both land and sky, using a combination of offensive and defensive tools, to close the distance and take down their enemy.
The game is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a free upgrade from last-gen to current gen consoles.
The game is getting a few releases, but if you want the best that will cost you around $880 AUD and can only be ordered direct from Bandai Namco, which does include shipping, so you have to ask yourself if you really want it. You can see it below and it does look impressive.
Finally, we also have a bunch of screenshots from the game, which can all act as great wallpapers, if you want.
