Apple have unveiled the new M1 powered iPad Pro
Early in the morning, Apple announced their all new iPad Pro and this isn’t just a yearly refresh of the standard design, this has a big addition, the M1 chip, which is the same chip that is powering most of the Mac line.
The M1 Chip is not the only new addition, the new iPad Pro also supports Thunderbolt, 5G for data, oh and now supports 2tb on board storage.
“The revolutionary M1 chip has been a breakthrough for the Mac, and we’re incredibly excited to bring it to iPad Pro,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “With M1’s huge jump in performance, a groundbreaking extreme dynamic range experience on the 12.9-inch Liquid Retina XDR display, up to 2TB of high-speed storage, Thunderbolt expansion, a four-speaker audio system, pro cameras with LiDAR Scanner, blazing-fast 5G connectivity, an amazing video-calling experience with Centre Stage — combined with the advanced features of iPadOS and a powerful pro app ecosystem all in a device users can hold in one hand — there’s nothing else like iPad Pro.”
Those looking to get one for themselves can do so starting on April 30, when orders open, with shipping to occur in the second half of May.
The new iPad Pro comes in 11-inch and 12.9inch variants, in either Silver or Space Grey colours, though those who want that new Liquid Retina screen can only do so on the larger device.
As for storage, the choices start at 128GB and go up from there, including 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB, as for pricing though, the 11-inch iPad Pro starts at $1199 for Wi-Fi only and $1449 for a Wi-Fi + mobile model. Those who do opt to go larger and get the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, should look at prices that start at $1649 for the Wi-Fi only option and $1899 for the Wi-Fi + mobile one. You need to add $150 for every 128gb of storage you add to it.
