A special new amiibo is coming for The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD

Nintendo have announced a new Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD themed amiibo, featuring Zelda and a Blue Loftwing, that will be released on the same day as the game. The amiibo will allow you to create a save point for your ground based adventures, letting you then warp back to Skyloft, before returning you to the ground, exactly where you loft off.. I mean left off, the video shows it in action.

In an interesting turn of things, this amiibo is the only amiibo that will work with the game, meaning your existing Skyward Sword themed Link, is not compatible with the game.

Another odd thing is that the amiibo will be sold both at selected retailers and the My Nintendo Store, but no matter where you shop for it, the price is $34.95, making it an expensive option.
