Ben Simmons is the cover athlete for NBA 2K19


2K has announced that local Basketball athlete Ben Simmons, will be on the cover of the game here in Australia and New Zealand. Simmons players for the Philadelphia 76ers and during his debut season in the NBA he set a host of records.

Simmons was only the third rookie in the NBA's long history to reach 1000 points, as well as 500 rebounds and 500 assists, following after Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson, he was also only second only to Robertson for the most triple-doublers in a rookie season.

"It's a huge honour to be recognised on the first-ever Australian cover for NBA 2K and represent the 76ers. The Aussie fans are super passionate about basketball and specifically NBA 2K, so it's very cool to be an ambassador for both" said Ben Simmons.

The game is coming out on September 11 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch, with the latter two versions being digital only at launch. Players can still order the limited 20th anniversary edition, if they want to get the game a few days early.
