Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Announced


While it was not shown during the Switch event today, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was revealed by a trailer afterwards. The trailer, which you can see below, shows off new characters, the Inklings, as well as returning characters like Dry Bones, King Boo and Bowser Jr. Classic items like the Ghost and Feather also return, which is good because you can carry two items at the same time now, ala Double Dash.

In addition to that, the game is also coming packed with a revamped battle-mode, with Balloon Battle and Bob-omb Blast modes. Add to it returning battle courses like the Gamecube's Luigi's Mansion and Battle Course 1 from the Super Nintendo and all new courses like Urchin Underpass and Battle Stadium, the game has plenty for all to play and play it soon you shall as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is set to release on Nintendo Switch on April 28th


The game will come with the original courses from Mario Kart 8 as well as all the DLC tracks, so no new race tracks, however there are three new vehicles, two inspired by Splatoon.



In addition to all that, the game supports a brand new mode called Smart Steering, which is designed for younger players, or those not great at the game, where if you get to close to the edge, the game will attempt to keep you on track.

Finally, 8 Switch units can be paired locally for the ultimate night of local gaming. Check out these screens from the game and below looks at the new battle mode courses.
