Prepare For Overwatch

Yesterday, Blizzard announced that Overwatch will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 24th, giving players an all new experience from the company known for creating amazing games.

While the game is only coming at the end of May, the start of May will see a final beta available for all players who pre-order the game and those who don't, but if you do order the game, you will get two days of access before it opens to the general public.

“Overwatch is a team shooter for everyone, with deep, cooperative gameplay, fast and fun competitive action, and a diverse range of larger-than-life heroes,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We think PC and console players everywhere will have a great time in the game, and we’re excited to give everyone a chance to try Overwatch out for themselves ahead of its May 24 launch.”

In order to ensure that players can choose the version of the game that is right for them, there are three versions of the game available, the standard game, the Origins Edition and the Collector's Edition.

The standard game is only available on PC and will get players the full experience, for those though that want a little more to their starting experience, the Origins Edition is for you. Alongside the full game, players will also get all of the following:

  • Overwatch - Hero Skins
    • Pay homage to the original Overwatch strike force by wearing the vintage skins Blackwatch Reyes or Strike-Commander Morrison. Explore other heroes’ origins with Overgrown Bastion, Security Chief Pharah, and even Slipstream Tracer!
  • Diablo III - Mercy's Wings
    • Slay demonic forces throughout the High Heavens and Burning Hells as you don Mercy's wings. All of Sanctuary will know of your allegiance to Overwatch!
  • World of Warcraft - Baby Winston Pet
    • Adorably cuddly and highly intellectual, the Baby Winston pet will be at your side as you fight your way through Azeroth.
  • Hearthstone - Card Back
    • Battle it out in Hearthstone with an Overwatch-themed card back fit for a hero!
  • StarCraft II - In-game Portraits
    • With brand new portraits of Tracer, Reaper, Pharah, Winston, Bastion, and Soldier: 76, you're sure to become a champion of the Koprulu Sector.
  • Heroes of the Storm - Tracer Hero
    • Jump into the Nexus with Tracer and surprise your enemies in the blink of an eye.
But for those that want the grandest experience possible, you will want to get in early and order the Collector's Edition.

Featuring all of the content that comes with the Origins edition, the collector's also includes the detailed statue of Soldier: 76, a full colour art book and a cd soundtrack.

Those after the digital only version, can expect to pay $69.95, those after the Origins Edition will pay $89.95 for PC and $99.95 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with the grand Collector's Edition $189.95 for PC and $199.95 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
