EA ANNOUNCES THE BATTLEFIELD FILM CHALLENGE




SYDNEY, Australia – 10 April, 2014 – Videogame publisher Electronic Arts is excited to announce the Battlefield Film Challenge, a short film competition based on the Battlefield™ franchise, open to Australia and New Zealand residents.

Budding and experienced filmmakers are invited to create a two to five minute video inspired by the games within the hugely-popular Battlefield series, including Battlefield 4™, Battlefield 3™, Battlefield: Bad Company™ and more. Entries for the Battlefield Film Challenge are officially open now and close at 11.59pm AEST on 12th May 2014.

Videos entered in the Battlefield Film Challenge can encompass everything from live-action sequences to Battlefield gameplay, with Battlefield developer DICE judging all entrants. “We are really excited to bring the Battlefield Film Challenge to our Australia and New Zealand fans and think we are giving filmmaker’s a great platform to receive exposure for their creativity, talent and passion”, says Craig Auld, Label Marketing Lead. “Specifically, the Battlefield theme is quite broad, so we cannot wait to see how our game is incorporated in each of the entries.”

The five finalists will be flown to Sydney for a special screening event at the Bondi Pavilion on Friday 23rd May. Each video will be showcased to the public, followed by the winner announcement of the AU$10,000 grand prize. The five finalists will also be featured on the official EA Games YouTube site, EA Games ANZ and Battlefield ANZ Facebook pages with a combined audience of over 650,000.
